ER-Telecom automates core business processes with IBM

28 April 2021, Moscow. ER-Telecom Holding JSC (trademarks and Business), one of the leaders of the Russian telecommunications market, has implemented an open hybrid cloud strategy with IBM and launched a new integrated business process and office management system. With the first stage of the implementation complete, the new system is built on IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation and is designed increase productivity, efficiency and quality of work with clients.

In this first phase, more than 10 core business processes across ER-Telecom Holdings’ technical infrastructure were automated, including: network construction, connection, service and technical support of corporate clients. As part of this comprehensive transformation, these business processes s were optimized to reduce repetitive, manual work and increase employee productivity.

After the launch of the system into commercial operation, the company expects a reduction in the execution time of business processes and an improvement in the quality of services provided to customers. For example, customers can experience improvements in billing and customer service efficiency due to the automation of select routine operations.

By integrating the IBM Business Automation Workflow capability within IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation, ER-Telecom Holdings can harness an open, hybrid cloud environment to automate digital workflows on premises or on any cloud. The implementation increases productivity by leveraging intelligent automation to transform key operations.

“Thanks to the built-in components the IBM Business Automation Workflow platform we chose, the launch and optimization of business processes can be carried out in a single integrated environment, which allows you to talk with all participants in business processes in the same language, using modern agile approaches,” said Alexander Drobyazkin, Project Manager, Operations Support System, at ER-Telecom Holding JSC. “Reducing the number of programming operations in favor of configuration becomes a pleasant bonus, thanks to which in a short time we managed to create our own competence center - a team that autonomously develops and supports the development of the platform within the holding.”
